Autumn and winter are the best viewing seasons for finless porpoises. On November 18th, a "finless porpoise observer" composed of Nanjing citizens’ representatives, volunteers and eco-photographers conducted a one-day observation at 13 finless porpoise observation points in Nanjing. See how lucky they are. What have they observed?

According to reports, from September to March every year, the Yangtze finless porpoise stably inhabits the waters of the riverside section of Nanjing Gulou, and people can watch them at close range. This year’s nationwide observation activities attracted more than 200 citizens’ representatives, volunteers and eco-photographers. Thirteen observation points are distributed on both sides of the Yangtze River, starting from Chuangye Estuary of Qilihe River in Jiangbei in the east and reaching Xinjizhou in the west, passing through Wumadu, Yangtze River Bridge, Jiang Xinzhou and Yuzui Wetland. This year, the Sanshanji observation point was added, which is the latest officially recorded spot where finless porpoises appear.

Jiang Meng, executive vice president and secretary general of Nanjing finless porpoise aquatic biology protection association, said: "Since 7: 00 in the morning, the activities of the Yangtze finless porpoise have been found at various observation points, indicating that the scope of the finless porpoise is gradually expanding. This is also a very good sign, and there are more places suitable for finless porpoise city activities. "
