So far, this mega-cross-border telecommunication network fraud case involving many provinces and cities in China has been successfully detected by Chongqing police.

  Chongqing police said that since the beginning of this year, there have been cases of "false investment" and impersonating "public security organs" to implement telecommunication network fraud. After investigation by the public security organs, the criminal dens of the above cases are located in Cambodia. Criminals may use high returns as bait to trick people into investing in fraud; Or pretend to be the staff of the public security organs, and commit fraud in the form of the victim’s alleged money laundering and bank card arrears.

  At the beginning of September this year, the Criminal Investigation Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security led public security organs in Chongqing, Shandong, Guangdong and Henan to form a working group and went to Cambodia to carry out case investigation. Chongqing police dispatched the backbone police of Chongqing Criminal Investigation Corps and Nan ‘an District Public Security Bureau to form an arrest team to work in Cambodia. After more than 40 days’ continuous work, the arresting team overcame language barriers and differences in law enforcement procedures, and found out the hiding places of criminal gangs.

  On October 5, the working group of the Ministry of Public Security went to Cambodia to jointly carry out the first centralized arrest operation with the Cambodian police, destroying 11 fraud dens, arresting 74 suspects, and escorting the above suspects back to China on October 12.

  On this basis, the public security organs dug deep into criminal clues, intensified their efforts in tracing, and discovered a number of telecommunication network fraud criminal dens located in Cambodia. On October 17, the working group of the Ministry of Public Security in Cambodia once again joined forces with the Cambodian police to carry out the second centralized arrest operation on four criminal dens in Phnom Penh, Ganradi and other places. A total of 61 suspects were arrested and a number of crime tools such as bank cards, computers and mobile phones were seized. On October 28th, the Ministry of Public Security organized policemen from Chongqing, Henan, Guangdong and other provinces and cities to take a charter flight to Cambodia to escort 61 suspects back to China.
