Visit the operation status of Beijing taxi charging stations: most of them are "occupied"

  Since May last year, the first batch of 11 taxi charging and replenishment stations in Beijing have been completed and put into operation for more than a year and a half. Most of these charging stations are built together with existing taxi stations, which can better ensure the demonstration operation of electric taxis.

  It is reported that the Beijing Municipal Transportation Commission Transportation Management Bureau, together with the Municipal Science and Technology Commission, the Municipal Electric Power Company and other units, has completed the construction of these 11 charging stations, which are located in 5 in Haidian District, 4 in Chaoyang District, and 2 in Fengtai District. Each station is equipped with two DC charging piles, which are charged by scanning the code of Youyi Charging App. According to the power calculation of the equipment, the two DC charging piles can meet the charging needs of 40 electric vehicles in a single day. Nowadays, with the gradual adjustment and reduction of roadside taxi charging stations, what is the utilization rate and current situation of the charging stations set up for the convenience of electric taxi charging and less delay in operation? After visiting the scene, our reporter found that most of the parking spaces at the charging station were "occupied" by traditional fuel society vehicles, and the phenomenon of becoming free parking lots for private cars was more serious. There are also some new energy private cars "eyeing" this good place and parking here to charge.

  Field visit

  1. East Third Ring Road, Northeast corner of Yansha Bridge

  At 2:40 p.m. last Thursday, the reporter saw that there were about six dedicated taxi parking spaces at the Yangzhao station on the side of the road. There were two charging piles next to the Yangzhao station sign. The blue characters on the ground next to the charging piles clearly indicated "Taxi charging only", and the three parking spaces farther away were also blue characters indicating that this was for taxi parking.

  But during the reporter’s stay here for half an hour, no electric taxis came to charge, only a private electric car parked in a parking space next to the charging pile to charge. The charging pile screen shows that it has been charging and parking here for nearly an hour. In other dedicated parking spaces, there are social vehicles that come here for a short time and then leave. A sanitation worker who is cleaning nearby told reporters that ordinary cars often stop in these parking spaces for most of the day. "It’s great to be able to park for free, they don’t drive a charging car. There are also ordinary taxis who come here to park and rest, private electric cars come here to charge and park for free."

  2. North side of Gongti North Road, in front of Yaxiu Market

  At 3:25 p.m. last Thursday, there were also two charging piles next to the Yangzhao station, six or seven dedicated parking spaces. The white "taxi" characters were still relatively clear on the ground of the parking space, but the blue "taxi charging special" words were mottled on the ground. There were three or four social vehicles parked in the parking spaces, all of which were ordinary fuel cars.

  3. West side of Gongti East Road, north of Gongti East Gate

  At 3:50 p.m. last Thursday, the reporter stayed for more than 20 minutes and saw that at the Yangzhao station here, two charging stations had electric cars stopping and charging, but they were all private cars, and there was no electric taxi. One of the charging stations had an electric private car parked on the roadside parking space in front of it and on the sidewalk behind it. Later, a private car that wanted to charge had to drive up the sidewalk vertically and park the car, "reach" and start charging. The reporter saw that the blue word "taxi only" on the ground of the parking space here was basically invisible, and the high-level electronic camera above the parking space was obvious.

  There are many paid parking spaces on the roadside of this road. The standard fee for cars is 2.5 yuan for 15 minutes (within the first hour), and 3.75 yuan for 15 minutes after the first hour. There is a toll administrator here. The toll administrator and the reporter chatted a few words: "Private cars can come here to charge." "Do you want to give you the parking fee when charging?" "Just give a few dollars…" "If I want to stop for two or three hours, can I give you 5 yuan for the parking fee?" "Okay, give it whatever you want, stop whatever you want, and charge it for as long as you want."

  4. South side of Yuanda Road, North Gate of Shanghe Village

  At 4 p.m. on Tuesday, the reporter went to the Yuanda Road taxi charging station on the south side of Jinyuan Times Shopping Center. The two charging stations in the Yangzhao station were working normally. Two parking spaces were drawn on the ground near the Yangzhao station with blue dotted lines and clearly stated "Taxi charging only".

  When the reporter arrived at the recruitment station, a new energy private passenger car and a new energy truck were charging using the charging pile. The reporter saw through the screen on the charging pile that the power of the two cars had exceeded 98%, of which the private car had been charged for 1 hour and 52 minutes, and the truck had been charged for more than 2 hours and 10 minutes.

  At 4:04 p.m., the fully charged minibus left the Yangzhao station. In less than two minutes, another white private new energy minibus drove into the Yangzhao station. After the driver parked the car, he inserted the charging gun into the charging port directly in front of the car and used his mobile phone to scan the code to start charging. After about 20 minutes, the minibus left the Yangzhao station. At 17:20, when the reporter returned to the scene again, he found that the fully charged new energy truck had not yet left the Yangzhao station.

  The reporter observed that from 4:05 pm to 4:20 pm, a total of 21 empty taxis passed by Yuanda Road in front of Yangzhao Station, among which three taxis stopped at this Yangzhao Station and one taxi dropped off passengers. At most, two taxis stopped at Yangzhao Station at the same time, but the number of new energy taxis in these 21 taxis was 0.

  Due to the occupation of the taxi parking space here, some of the taxis parked at Yangzhao Station stopped near the intersection, and some parked in the inner lane. In order to avoid these vehicles, the bicycles and takeaway motorcycles had to "take risks" and walk on the motorway, mixing with the passing buses, which looked very dangerous.

  The driver said

  It is difficult to find electric piles, so I dare not drive too hard

  Many "brothers" have long been unsurprised that the parking spaces at Yangzhao Station are occupied by private cars. Master Duan, who rents out in the north, told reporters that the current usage rate of Yangzhao Station is very low. "Everyone is used to using taxi software, who is willing to go out and walk 500 meters to find a Yangzhao station. So now many Yangzhao stations are set up without any meaning."

  A "brother" of a new energy taxi told reporters that the setting up of a charging station can save a lot of parking fees. "Before this, you had to use your mobile phone to search for the charging piles of the State Grid. These charging piles are basically in the parking lot or office building. Once you enter, you have to charge the parking fee. Originally, it was said that new energy taxis can save fuel money, but when you add the parking fee, it is more expensive than refueling, so many drivers don’t like to go."

  However, in actual use, the new energy taxi "brother" will generally encounter the situation where the special charging pile is occupied. "Usually, wherever the car is driven, you will look for the nearby charging pile, but when you arrive at the scene, you find that there is no place to park, and then search the nearby one, and it is still the same. Therefore, you can’t drive too hard now, and you have to leave a battery life of tens of kilometers to find the charging pile.

  Experts say

  Use efficiency placement efficiency grab together

  Wang Limei, vice president of the China Road Transport Association, said that the opening of the charging station should be viewed from the two aspects of use efficiency and placement efficiency, and it should be "caught together". From the perspective of use efficiency, the current occupation of the station is related to the long-term inefficiency of the station. In the past, taxis were unwilling to use the station and could not get a car at the station. The station was occupied by social vehicles. These problems will also appear at the charging station.

  In terms of placement efficiency, the number of new energy taxis in Beijing will increase in the future, and the demand for the use of charging piles will gradually increase. Now the charging mode of taxi recruitment stations can meet part of the needs of these drivers. "It is still possible to increase the investment, but it needs to be further managed later to improve the efficiency and pertinence of use."

  Illegal occupation of rental parking spaces at Yangzhao Station will be dealt with according to law

  Taxi station refers to a specific area located in public places such as urban roads and hotels, business centers, hospitals, and residential areas, where two or more special parking spaces for taxis are designated and signs are set up for passengers to wait for taxis. It is a special area for taxis composed of a designated blue solid line for short-term parking and waiting for passengers and a designated blue dotted line for temporary parking and picking up passengers.

  In order to facilitate the charging and replenishment needs in the operation of pure electric taxis, in May last year, the city built 11 taxi charging stations using taxi charging stations, and installed video monitoring systems, which have the function of real-time collection of video data. Provide effective support for the monitoring of station equipment and the collection of evidence for illegal parking spaces. According to relevant regulations, the illegal occupation of taxi parking spaces shall be handled by the traffic management department according to law.

  In order to facilitate the charging of more electric vehicles and improve the efficiency of charging facilities, the relevant departments in Beijing are currently studying how to open the charging function to new energy vehicles in the society in their spare time while ensuring the charging of pure electric taxis.

  Regarding whether the city’s charging station will continue to increase construction in the future, the relevant person in charge of the Transportation Administration said that the expansion project is under study, but there is no latest progress to be announced.
