In 2020, affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the recovery rate of domestic tourist arrivals and total tourism revenue in the city was still higher than the data released by the China Tourism Academy.

  In the past five years, the market vitality has been significantly improved. Seven new scenic spots above 3A level in the city, eight new high-star tourist hotels, more than 300 travel agencies and their branches, and two cultural tourism enterprises with a main income of over 100 million yuan.

Our city insists on turning characteristic resources into development advantages, and accelerates the construction of a cultural tourism destination in northern Anhui with Shouzhou Ancient City, Bagong Mountain Historical and Cultural Tourism Area, and Jiaogang Lake Leisure and Holiday Tourism Area as the core. Focus on improving scenic spots, transform and upgrade the reeds in Jiaogang Lake Lotus Lake, and build key projects such as Anhui Chu Culture Museum, Bagong Mountain Four Seasons Flower Sea, Jiaogang Lake Flower Sea, Zhongpei Yuquan Bay, and Huainan Crime Evidence Site Protection and Display (Phase I) of the Japanese Invasion of China. Focusing on integrated development, relying on urban construction, we will build tourism infrastructure such as the ancient city tourist distribution center of Shouxian County, the Huanshan Road of Shungeng Mountain, and the new wharf of Jiaogang Lake; relying on urban commerce, we will build leisure venues such as Jiaogang Lake tourist shopping street, Wanda cinema, and shopping plazas; relying on industrial, agricultural, and coal mining subsidence areas to build tourist attractions (spots) and expand the city’s tourism territory.

  In the era of national tourism, the aroma of wine is also afraid of deep alleys. On the basis of practicing internal skills, our city has dug deep into the cultural connotation of the Huai River, strengthened cultural tourism publicity and marketing, and innovatively launched three characteristic cultural tourism activity brands: "Chuyun Shouchun City", "Bagongshan Tourism Carnival" and "Jiaogang Lake Water Youth Happy Season". Strive to create 6 cultural tourism routes such as "Follow the idiom to visit Huainan", 4 rural self-driving tour routes "spring, summer, autumn and winter", and 8 tourist boutique routes.   During the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, the city’s cultural facilities were upgraded and built into a municipal cultural and art center; there are currently 10 public libraries, 9 cultural centers, 4 museums, 73 township comprehensive cultural stations, and 832 farmhouse bookstores.
